Dear Birch families,

Another great week in the books! This week our focus was on trees and the seasonal changes we see in them.  The children were eager to discuss the world around them and luckily we have many trees to look at right at Treehouse!

A favorite in art this week was painting at the easel.  The class often does painting at the tables, but this was a fun change (and awesome for fine motor development). The children helped to gather leaves, sticks, and pine cones outside and then the class used them to make prints in their play dough.

In reading the children really enjoyed Fletcher and the Falling Leaves, we read it at least three times! It also opened the door for the class to discuss why exactly the leaves change colors and fall off the trees.  We looked outside on our playground and were able to find some that already fell.

The class really enjoys our music time.  The children always have the biggest smiles while singing and dancing to the songs.  It definitely has become their favorite time of day.
