Dear Evergreen Families,

This week in our classroom we have been learning about the solar system. Each day the children have learned about a different planet. This week the planets have been Mars, Earth, Jupiter, Saturn and Venus. Some interesting facts we learned this week: Mars has water on it and is made of reddish-brown dust, which is why it is “The Red Planet;” Saturn has over 10,000 rings around it; and Jupiter’s red spot is actually a hurricane that is constantly in motion. Those are just a few of the amazing things we learned this week!

We have introduced a new sound matching activity on the math and science shelf and a new sorting activity on the practical life shelf.

Next week we will be talking about Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. We will also talk about the constellations found in the northern hemisphere.

The children have enjoyed singing and dancing with Miss Ash during music class this week.

Have a great weekend!

Ms. Brenda, Ms. Kirsten, and Ms. Megan
