Dear Birch families,
This week in Birch, the class turned their attention to our healthy bodies. During small circle, the children listened to the books, Henry Helps Bake Cookies, Doctors Help, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and How Do Dinosaurs Go To School. The children also painted with yellow and red to make orange, glued feathers on “birds” and colored with crayons on green paper.
During music with Ms. Kathleen, the children learned a new finger song, we sang “Where Is Thumbkin?”, and the children danced with scarves to “When The Saints Go Marching In”. The children also used the shaker eggs and listened to forest animal sounds!
Our practical life activities included pouring water from cup to cup in the sensory table, catching magnet fish in the work area, practicing threading beads, painting with the roller brushes at the easel, and practicing putting boots on and off!
The Birch class really enjoys practicing the yoga poses “warrior”, “frog” and railroad”, jumping with two feet and tiptoeing, leaping from stepping stone to stepping stone in the Aspen playground, and rolling the big balls back and fourth.
Next week we will be talking about fish!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Ms. Sarah and Ms. Mariah
