Dear Dogwood families,

This week Dogwood and Cedar talked about Peace Education.  This is such an abstract concept, so we talked about gentle touches and soft voices.  The children listened to stories including The Peace Book, Little Dino Don’t Push, I am Sharing, Can You Say Peace? and Little Dino Don’t Yell.  During our small circle, the children sang “Make New Friends”, “Ring Around the Roses”, “The More We Get Together” and “Open and Shut Them”.

The children worked on their large motor skills when they were walking in the snow and dancing “Ring Around the Rosey” and “We Are the Dinosaurs Marching”.  During art, the children: Painted with texture brushes and bingo dabber and also made hand stamps.

Small motor skills were used when they were practicing pouring water from one cup to another and scooping small turtles.  They also enjoyed washing dishes and ribbons in sensory table and blowing bubbles outside.
