Spanish – September 9, 2016

It’s another year here at Treehouse and the great thing about this school is that I don’t have to start from the beginning most of the kids have had Spanish since Aspen!

In Aspen we are starting with colors, the song for the colors goes like this:

Red is rojo, green is verde, blue- azul, negro – black, yellow – amarillo, purple is

morado, brown – café, gray is griz.

The other colors not in the song: naranja – orange, rosado – pink, blanco – white.

The first thing the kids are learning is the greeting commands such as:

Hola : hello

Como estas? : how are you?

Muy bien gracias : very good thank you

Y tu / Y Usted : and you

Buenos dias : Good morning

Buenas tardes : good afternoon

Buenas noches : Good night

Adios : good bye

Como te llamas? : What’s your name

Me llamo_ : my name is____

Cuantos anos tienes? : How old are you?

Tengo cuatro anos : I’m four years old

We started learning about things around the classroom.

Lapiz : pencil

Pluma : pen

Libro : book

Cuaderno : notebook

Tijeras : scissors

Borrador : eraser

Mochila : backpack

papel : paper

Crayones : crayons

Sacapuntas : pencil sharpener

Lapices de colores : colored pencils

Maestra : teacher

piso : floor

Reloj : clock/watch

Mapa : map

Ventana : window

puerta : door

The song for this topic is the following:

Pollito – chick, gallina – hen, lapiz – pencil, pluma – pen, ventana – window,

puerta – door, maestra – teacher, piso – floor.
