Parent Weekly Notes – October 7, 2016

The news this week about losing Big Circle was a blow to everyone.  Thank you so much for your words of support and offers of help!  While we all understand the need for rules and order, it still feels unnecessary and punitive.  I have been in contact with the licensing supervisor and I am currently working with her to write our appeal.  Unfortunately, the original appeal was granted prior to the addition of the toddler wing, so the added numbers of children may hinder our efforts.  Nonetheless, please know that we at Treehouse are all committed to “doing what’s best for kids” and our Big Circle time is a special time we won’t lose without a fight!

Research shows that strong social/emotional proficiency in early childhood is a good predictor of later success in school and adulthood. And children with emotional or behavioral challenges are likely to receive less adult support for development and learning and to be more isolated from peers.

We are happy to have the Early Childhood Professionals from Healthy Learning Paths with us again this year for a series of parent education presentations.  Please join us for information on how you can support your child’s social/emotional growth at home.
