Spanish – October 28, 2016


We finished learning some of the words in the alphabet “El Alfabeto”:

CH:  chocolate,  el Chaleco –  vest, el Chicle – gum

D:   Dedo – finger, los dedos de los pies – toes, el Dinosaurio

E:    Elefante, la escuela – school, el espejo – mirror

F:     fuego – fire, flor – la flower

G:   Gallo – rooster, la gallina – hen, el gato – cat

H:   hoja – leaf, el helado – ice cream, el huevo – egg (H is silent)

J:    Jirafa –giraffe, el jugo – juice (J is the sound of H in Inglish)

 

With Halloween in October we learned the words related to the season:

Gato negro → black cat

la calaza → pumpkin

la bruja → the witch

La luna → the moon

las estrellas → the stars

la arana → the spider

El murcielago → the bat

el esqueleto → skeleton

la fiesta → the party

El fantasma → ghost

Octubre → October

los dulces → the sweets

We have also been learning the “Five Little Pumpkins” song in Spanish:

Cinco calabazas sentadas en un banco → Five little pumkins sitting on a bench

La primera dijo, “Se esta hacienda tarde” → The first one said “it’s getting late”

La segunda dijo, “Hay brujas en el aire” → The second one said “there’s witches in the air”

Dijo la tercera, “No nos importa” → The third one said “we don’t care”

La cuarta dijo, “Enchemos a correr” → The fourth one said “let’s run”

La quita dijo “Yo quiero divertirme” → The fifth one said “I want to have some fun”

“Uu-uu,” dijo el viento, y la luz se apago → “whoooo” said the wind and the light went out

Y las cinco calabazas comenzaron a rodar → And the five pumpkins starting rolling (out of sight)
