November 18

Good evening Birch families,

This week the Birch class celebrated the story of Stone Soup and what it means to be kind and caring towards one another. The children listened along to the story of Stone Soup during small circle along with other books such as I am Generous, Thankful, One Family and I am Kind.

During music with Ms. Kathleen, the class listened to different owl sounds, danced with scarves to “The Grand Old Duke of York”, sang along to “Frosty the Snowman” and created music using jingle bells and shaker eggs.

Practical life skills continued to grow by working with lacing work, transferring water using small pitchers, using tweezers to pick up pom-poms and washing food from the kitchen in the sensory table.

The children continued to enhance their large motor skills by crawling through a tunnel, running to catch bubbles, walking/jumping across stepping stones and playing red light, green light.

During P.E. with Ms. Kira, the Birch used movement dice, went on a bear hunt, practiced walking on tip- toes and played ring around the rosie.

Next week the Birch class will be discussing Thanksgiving and thankfulness.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Ms. Nicole and Ms. Itzel
