Good afternoon Evergreen families!

This week in Evergreen the children learned about a festival of lights called Diwali, which was celebrated in October. The children expressed excitement that they knew about Diwali because the will be singing about it for Light and Love.

The children were engaged in many activities this week that celebrate Light and Love. They worked on decorations for their performance, as well as paper chain decorations that they can take home. The children made gifts for people they love in their lives, and talked about the reasons they love those people. Evergreen was presented with a gift from the Dogwood children, and on Thursday the Evergreen children gave a gift to the Aspen classroom.

Our social/emotional meet ups this week, are helping the children learn their detective skills to figure out how people are feeling. They are practicing empathy, as they try to understand how they feel in certain situations, which also helps them decide how they can help others feel better.

Winter is here! Remember that snow boots are not allowed in the classroom. Please make sure your child has a pair of shoes to wear in the classroom. Also, please label hats, coats, mittens, boots, and snow pants.

Have a wonderful weekend!

The Evergreen Team,

Ms. Riann, Ms. Lindsey, Ms. Suzan, Ms. Suzanne, and Ms. Becky
