This week in Forest, we explored winter holidays and traditions! Children were excited to discuss their plans for the upcoming holidays. We read many winter books and learned about what different families do to celebrate. This week, Forest children had the chance to work on their gifts to families as well. Children decorated their gifts, wrapped them, and wrote cards. Be sure to look for your child’s gift to take home!
This week, Forest children continued their play theme of restaurants. Each day children practiced different scenarios in their restaurant centers. They worked together to take food orders, write orders down, cook food, serve customers, and clean up. Children practiced their problem-solving skills when problems arose, such as what to do when there are no customers or if an order is served incorrectly. Next week, Forest will add on to the restaurants in place and continue their play.
Forest is looking for families interested in caring for our classroom pets Taco the fish and Lily the frog over the long holiday break. If you are interested in keeping either pet for the week off, please let a Forest teacher know soon! We will provide everything needed. Thank you!
Have a great weekend!
