Hello Garden and Mountain Families. Happy New Year!

The last two weeks we have been working on a theme of ‘My Body.’ The children have been very interested lately in pointing to parts of their faces and bodies. We spent a lot of time naming different body parts and helping the children find them. One that makes them giggle a bit is the tongue. We stick out our tongues and the children have fun trying to copy that.

They also seem to enjoy singing “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes.” We will take turns singing the song and pointing to one child at a time, and they patiently wait for their turn. We also sang “If You’re Happy and You Know It,” “Come on Everybody,” and “Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed.” The older children have been trying out the actions to these songs, too. We read My Body, All About Me, ABC Look at Me, See, Hear, and Smell, Hands Can, Clap Your Hands, and Toes, Ears & Nose.

Since we have had a little bit of warmer weather this week, we took the opportunity to get as much fresh air as we could. We played on the playground and went on a buggy ride. The children enjoyed watching the trees and the balls on the playground blow in the wind. It was also a great opportunity for the children to see their toddler friends through the fence.

Please join in welcoming three new friends to Treehouse: Patrick, Odin, and Bennett.

Have a wonderful weekend.
