Good afternoon Aspen families!
This week we have enjoyed learning all about fish. We created jellyfish, discovered where jellyfish live, colored our favorite fish, and discussed our favorite sea animal. We learned all about under the sea in Spanish words and had fun pretending to be fish. Aspen read several books about the differences in fish, all about pout pout fish, as well as ecosystems of fish. During small group we also worked on our cutting skills, and practiced identifying and sorting colors and shapes. Whew! It has been a busy week in Aspen.
Literacy: This week we read Are You My Valentine and sorted objects related to Valentine’s Day.
Spanish: This week in Spanish we reviewed colors and counting to 20. Children also reviewed animals as well as the colors of animals.
Music: This week we danced to different melodies while using the shaker eggs. We also used the microphone to repeat a variety of melodies.
P.E: This week the children worked on taking turns while playing games – this is a difficult thing to do! We also had fun enjoying the outdoors using our large muscles.
High Scope Math: This week in High Scope we focused on rolling the dice and matching our movements to the numbers on the dice.
Next week Ms. Kathleen will be introducing new instruments and all the children will have the chance to explore them using all of our senses. We look forward to this unit every year!
Have a wonderful weekend!
