April 28

Good afternoon Cedar families,

This week the children learned about caring for the Earth and how to do some spring cleaning. The children sang “Baby Bumblebee” and “The Ants go Marching,” as well as a host of favorites including “If You’re Happy and You Know It,” and “The Wheels on the Bus.”  The children read Who Cares about the Weather?, The Bear went over the Mountain, Shades of People, and A Good Day.

The children worked on their large motor skills when dancing with scarves, stomping to the dinosaur song, doing yoga, playing “Follow the Leader”, and kicking the cones over.  The children also threw bean bags in P.E.

Practical life skills were used when the children practiced giving the baby dolls a bath, washing their hands and faces after eating, and sweeping up after spilling. The children also practiced stringing large beads.

During art, the children painted with paper towel rolls, finger painted, and used bubble wrap for painting.

The children explored with sand and animals in the sensory table, looked for bugs on the playground, played with soapy water in the sensory table.

During music with Ms. Kathleen the children created music with jingle bells and rhythm sticks, listened to animal sounds, and danced with scarves to Beethoven.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Ms. Amy, Ms. Delani, Ms. Delanie, Ms. Stevie, and Ms. Piper
