This week in Garden and Mountain the children continued learning about zoo animals.  The children read Peek-a-Boo Zoo, ABC Animals, and Zoo’s Who?  The children also sang “We’re going to the Zoo,” “Five Little Elephants Balancing,” and “Five Little Monkey Swinging in the Tree.”

The children practiced putting toys back in bins to help clean up their space.  The children worked on their large motor skills by trying out “Child’s Pose” and “Cobra Pose” for baby yoga.  The children also crawled through tunnels and over climbing mats.

For art, the children used sidewalk chalk and crayons.  The children explored their sense of touch with animals in the sand table and in the water table.  The children also used modeling dough.

During music with Ms. Kathleen, the children danced with scarves and played shaker eggs.  The children also listened to animal sounds while looking at animal pictures.
