August 25

Good afternoon Cedar families,

This week in Cedar and Dogwood we learned about our bodies.  The children spent a lot of time dancing and naming body parts.

During small circle, we sang: “The ABC’s”, “5 Green Specked Frogs” and “Where is Thumbkin”

We read: Clap Your Hands, Here are my Hands and Head Shoulders Knees and Toes.

The children worked on their large motor skills when they hopped like bunnies and enjoyed running races.

Practical life skills were used when, the children practiced pushing in their chairs, wiping tables and sweeping up their snack.  Young children love to “clean”, ask your child to help you wash tables at home!

During art, the children the made hand-prints and enjoyed finger painting. They also used brushes with pink and white paint.

The children explored with goop and sand and had fun noticing how each felt in their hands.

Have a great weekend!
