Good afternoon Birch families!
This week the Birch class turned their attention to Halloween and fall. During small circle, the children listened to the books Rattlebone Rock, Old Old Witch, Which Witch Is Which? and Trick or Treat Halloween. The children also got to paint with orange paint, and then glue on paper, listen to animal sounds and explored the inside of a pumpkin!
During music with Ms. Kathleen, the children sang “Black Cat” and “Jack-O-Lantern”. The Birch class also danced to “We Are the Dinosaurs”, “I’m A Little Pumpkin” and “The Dump Truck”. We created music using shaker eggs, jingle bells and danced with scarves.
Practical life skills continued to grow by, putting on our own jackets using the flip magic, hanging our jackets back on the hooks, texture matching work and scooping stars.
The Birch class continued to enhance their large motor skills by walking on tip toes, walking backwards and sideways, crawling through the rainbow tunnel and jumping across the stepping stones.
We also said “goodbye” to Ms Itzel and wished her good luck with the new baby. We invited her to come back for a visit.
Next week, we will be learning about manners!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Ms. Sarah, Ms Itzel and Ms. Mariah
