Hello Evergreen Families
This week we have been very busy with creating and learning how to pretend in the Airport. The children have listened to books about airplanes and stories about family visiting via an airplane ride. A few props have been made with the children’s input, for example a student commented that “someone needs to fix the plane when it breaks”. With that we added a mechanic to the roles and have a new activity that includes an airplane engine to fix. They are also writing plans with more detailed pictures and practicing printing their name.
As we gear up for the upcoming holiday season the children have been sharing traditions that they have, who comes to visit and some of their favorite foods to eat. We are also discussing what friendship is and how to be a good friend. They are actively describing situations and how to be kind with actions and words. Stone Soup was the theme of the week, as all children really enjoyed bringing in an item to contribute to the lunch.
Finally, the children are learning number recognition with the Mystery Question in the morning and new shelf activities. We discussed how fast planes travel and had the children fly paper planes, measuring how far they went on our “runway”.
Thank You
Ms. Kristine, Ms. Meghan, Ms. Julie and Ms. Lauren
