Dear Birch Families!
This week, the Birch class turned their attention to fish and what is love? During small circle, the children listened to the books, Rainbow Fish, I Am Peace, Families, Commotion In The Ocean, and Cuddle Bear. The children also go to water color coffee filters, we “drew scales” with crayons and water colored them, we stamped hearts on paper and mixed red and white paint to make pink!
During music, the children sang and danced to the “Goldfish Song” with scarves and sang, “Love Is Something If You Give It Away”.The children were busy this week with lots of cleaning activities like spraying water on the tables and wiping them, practicing to use one pump of soap and one paper towel, and washing the dishes in the water table.
The Birch class continued to enhance their large motor skills by, pretending to jump in “puddles” with two feet, practicing to hop from lily pad to lily pad, doing water creature yoga, and marching in a band around the classroom.
Next week, we will be talking about musical instruments, and Valentine’s Day.
Have a wonderful weekend!
