Dear Dogwood families,

This week Dogwood and Cedar learned about Africa and Safari Animals.  During small circle, the children sang “Five Elephants Balancing”, “Old Mac Donald – using safari animals” and “5 Little Monkeys Swinging on a Tree”.

The children listened to stories, If You’re Happy and You Know It – jungle edition, The Bear Went Over the Mountain, Monday is a Fun Day and I Can, Can You?.  We all had fun with play-doh and our musical instruments.  

Outside, the children worked on their large motor skills by walking on a straight line, kicking balls with friends and going up the slide ladder.

During our inside work period we worked on shape sorting, and pouring water with small pitchers.  And in art the children glued black stripes in a tiger and painted paper plates lions.
