Spanish Update February 8, 2018

At the beginning of the class we go over the basic questions, one of the new questions we have added is “Como esta el tiempo hoy” – How’s the weather today?

Hoy esta soleado?           Is today sunny?     The kids respond “Si o No”

Hoy esta nublado?          Is today cloudy?   

Hoy esta frio?                 Is today cold?

Hoy esta ventoso?          Is today windy?

Hoy esta lluvioso?          Is today rainy?

Hoy esta nevando?          Is today snowing?

 

We follow this by singing “la arana pequenita” Bitsy, bitsy spider.

La arana pequenita subio, subio, subio      the bitsy spider went up…

Vino la lluvia y se la llevo                       down came the rain and it took her away

Salio el sol y todo lo seco                         the sun came out and everything dried up

Y la arana pequenita subio, subio, subio   and the bitsy spider went up…

This month we will learn vocabulary about “El Dia de San Valentin” – Valentine’s Day;

Amor                    love                      te quiero               I love you

Un beso                a kiss                    un abrazo              a hug

El Corazon           the heart               caja de chocolates box of chocolates

Las rosas              the roses               Febrero                 February

Te amo                 I love you             La flecha               the arrow

Remember to always pronounce the vowels in Spanish “A, E, I, O, U” before you start reading or writing in Spanish.
