Hello Birch Families!
This week, the Birch class talked reptiles. During small circle, the children looked at reptile flash cards, we sang “I Have A Little Turtle” and “Five Little Monkeys Swinging In A Tree”, and we talked about and looked at flash cards with shapes and colors. We also decorated the letter “B” with water colors, bingo dabbers, and “snakes” (string).
During music with Ms. Kathleen, the children were introduced to some new instruments and some old ones! The children were given a chance to play the drum, the triangles and the Guiro. They really enjoyed exploring the sounds these instruments made! We’ve also been playing the drum in our room, and the children have really liked exploring the different sounds that they can make with it.
During work period the children are using color matching cards, using the peg board to stack pegs, matching shapes with the egg shape work, and exploring with reptiles in the sensory table. The Birch class had fun outside by jumping over small cones , playing with the action dice, kicking balls to a friend, and tossing bean bags into a basket!
Next week, we will be talking about exercise and nutrition!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Ms. Sarah and Ms. Mariah
