Dear Cedar families,
This week, Dogwood and Cedar talked about Fish. We enjoyed looking and acting like we were swimming like fish.
During small circle, the children sang “ Slippery Fish”, “5 Little Fish”, We looked at photos of fish and talked about what kind of fish they were and what colors they were. The children worked on their large motor by dancing to the “Gold Fish” song, kicking balls, running races with friends and rolling the big balls outside – which we thought was so funny.
Practical life skills were used when the children swept up messes with the broom, worked on putting on hats and boots and they love to wash the window with a wet wash cloth. During art, the children worked with contact paper and tissue paper to make sun catchers, and we also made water color fish and explored with tin foil and paint to make tin foil fish like the one in The Rainbow Fish book.
They all enjoyed experimenting with colored water in the sensory table and pouring the water from one cup to the other. for a different sensory experience, we tried feeling what is soft and not so soft with our hands and touching it to our face to see how it felt. They loved this!
