March 16

Hello Birch families!

This week in Birch, we talked about St. Patrick’s Day!  During small circle, we read Let It Rain, Penguins Love Colors, Caps For Sale, Please, Mr. Panda and St. Patrick’s Day.  The children were able to make a handprint rainbow, paint with green and gold, and decorate shamrocks!

During music with Ms. Kathleen, the children enjoyed the book Waking Up Is Hard To Do.  It is an engaging story with music to match!  We had so much fun dancing to this song this week!  The children also had a turn to play the triangle, small drums and the cymbals.

The children worked on their small motor skills by putting coins through a slot, and listening to hear them drop in the drawer.  They also were busy making an “Irish dinner” with our play food and building a track and driving the cars on it.

The Birch class continued to enhance their large motor by crawling through the rainbow tunnel, dancing an “Irish Jig”, kicking a ball back and forth to a friend, and dancing to one of our favorite songs “Animal Actions”!

Next week, we will be talking about spring!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Ms. Sarah and Ms. Mariah
