Good afternoon Garden and Mountain families,
This week we continued our theme was transportation. The children sang “Zoom, Zoom, Zoom”, “Old McDonald had a Truck” and “The Wheels on the Bus.” During small circle the children Noisy Book of Trains, That’s Not My Train, Diggers, and Planes.
For large motor activities this week, the children used push/ walking toys. They also dug in sand, danced to the song “Rainbow Train” and pushed little cars on the road rug. For art this week the children explored coloring with crayons on grey paper. Teachers then folded these pieces of paper into paper airplanes and the children attempted to make them fly outside.
In music class with Ms. Kathleen, the children read along to the song book “Waking Up is Hard to Do.” They also played jingle bells, shaky eggs, and drums.
A practical life activity that the children really enjoyed this week was helping wipe tables with rags and soapy water. Here is a recent article from NAEYC on the valuable learning experiences that practical life activities provide:
