Good afternoon Garden and Mountain families,
This week our theme was bugs. During circle we sang “Bringing Home a Baby Bumble Bee”, “The Ants Go Marching” and “Itsy-Bitsy Spider”. During circle the children also read Bugs, Bugs, Bugs!, A Picture Book of Insects, The Big Bug Search, and The Big Bug Search .
For large motor activities this week, the children pushed crawled through tunnels, and practiced the butterfly yoga pose. Older children practiced reaching up and touching their toes.
For art this week the children continued exploring drawing with markers. They also made suncatchers by putting pieces of tissue paper on clear contact paper. Other sensory experiences the children had this week include exploring sand, grass and sticks in the sensory table.
In music class with Ms. Kathleen, the children listened to farm animal sounds. They also played with jingle bells and sang tones into a microphone.
At Treehouse we follow our infant’s cues to know when to feed, give them naps and meet their other needs. Here is an article from Zero to Three organization that elaborates on the importance of responsive feeding:
