Hello Aspen families,
This week we have been learning all about recycling! In addition to practicing recycling in the classroom by collecting paper in a recycling bin near the art shelf and then reusing the paper the children collected to make art projects on Friday.
In circle time this week we read the books Charlie’s Boat, This Beautiful Day, It’s S, Farm Friends Clean Up, and Friends. The students talked about the topic of recycling, discussing recycling at home and what kinds of things they can recycle. We have also been spending time this week working with letters /S/ and /R/. It was inspiring to see the students so enthusiastic about brainstorming a variety of words that begin with the letter sound /R/.
There were many engaging sensory works open at this week, including floam cutting, play doh trays, letter matching, and the sensory table with colored water.
In music class this week Ms. Kathleen worked with the children on some new finger play songs and dancing with scarves. The children also worked with jingle bells, keeping rhythms on different body parts such as their toes. In Spanish this week Ms. Susan introduced some new clothing vocabulary to the students and continued to review color and number vocabulary.
Finally to wrap up the week the children had a visit from Ms. Beth Epely!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Ms. Kate, Ms. Megan, Ms. Mallison and Ms. Susie
