April 27

 Hello Cedar families,

This week in the Cedar and Dogwood class’es we talked about Spring. We looked at pictures of flowers and new baby animals. The children also learned about how things grow in spring, talked about how the trees and the plants will start growing and we will start to see the leaves come up on the trees and how the flowers will start to come out of the ground. We also talked about how it rains and that helps the plants grow. We practiced scooping small balls out of the sensory table, driving our cars through cones, and jumping off the balance beam. In our small group lessons this week we talked about the animals we see in spring time, and the major changes we see in the spring time like grass growing, and trees getting their leaves.  And we sang “I’m a Little Flower” and “Head Shoulders Knees, and Toes”.

During circle time, this week we read: Who Can Hop, Welcome Back Animals, Lovely Ladybugs, The Super Sun, and Spring is Here. The children continued building their practical life skills this week by sorting colors, washing mirrors and windows, and folding wash cloths. This week in art we painted with rollers, and explored with play dough.

Have an amazing weekend and enjoy the wonderful weather!
