Hello Birch families!

This week in Birch we talked about measurements! We discussed the idea of size and how much. We practiced using measurements by helping Ms. Mariah make slimy goop! Each child measured out one ingredient and poured it into our mixing bowl. In our small group lessons this week we decided who was tallest in the room and who was the shortest in the room!

During circle time, this week we read: The Foot Book, Small and Tall, The Little Engine that Could, and The Shape Book. The children continued working on their practical life skills by building stores, houses and buildings with Legos, matching big shapes to little shapes, and doing a tool puzzle. In art, the children created umbrellas to match the rainy weather we had most of the week and created hand prints using paint for a special someone this month! Birch class also had a great time catching and popping bubbles!

In music, this week Ms. Kathleen introduced us to a new book called The Ants Go Marching and introduced us to an actual guitar! We danced and sang to different tunes and learned a new kittens with mittens song!

Have an amazing weekend!

Ms. Sloan and Ms. Mariah
