Hello Evergreen Families

This week we began a new topic in class, Food Gardens, Insects and Flowers!  The children know a lot about planting and specific needs for a plant to grow. We have been looking at seeds and making the connection that this is where our food comes from. They also made the connection to the past topic of Farm to Table, Wow! In the following weeks we will start seedlings, plant our salad garden for the Summer and learn about bees and other insects.

Ms. Patti joined us a few mornings this week for circle time and introduced some new songs to get us started which the children thoroughly enjoyed. One song called “Dirt, Made My Lunch” has become a favorite. As the weather kept us in a bit more, we practiced new movement activities, did some yoga and learned some fingerplays, hopefully you’ll hear some new tunes being sung at home.
