Hello Birch families!
This week in Birch we talked about cooking! We discussed what we cook, what we like and how we cook things! We explored cooking by playing with dried and cooked pasta in our sensory table. Everyone loved pretending to make food for a friend! In our small group lessons this week we talked about what foods we dislike, what foods are good for our bodies and what food we love!
During circle time, this week we read: If You Give a Moose a Muffin, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, and other books in that series. The children continued building their practical life skills by folding blankets, practicing taking off and putting on their shoes and doing work that involved sorting with a spaghetti cooking tool. In art, the children created their favorite food drawing with wet crayons, tearing green tissue paper that looked like lettuce and gluing it to make a salad! Birch class also had a great time planting flowers in our garden!
In music, this week Ms. Kathleen let us strum her guitar and we danced and sang to different tunes with scarves!
Have an amazing weekend!
