Hello Evergreen Families,
This week at drop off, many of you helped your child answer the “Mystery Question,” in which children find their own name and use it to answer a question using yes or no. The children are more comfortable with the works they are learning with and the routine is getting easier. Our morning is very busy, we start circle with dancing and singing for movement and then we begin Planning, this is where as a class we do Message of the Day. This time is crucial for the start of the day as this tool is meant to demonstrate specific literacy concepts to make children increasingly aware of writing and reading. The message is simple to start, “We are going to read,” and then that activity is done at a planned time in the day. Then the children are sent to work with a teacher in small groups to make their own intentional plan to do morning work.
Another big area of concentration is supporting the social/emotional transition that comes with a new classroom. Using the program children learn and teach Z, an alien, to handle emotional situations. We have discussed what we all have in common and next week will talk about how we are different.
Thank You
