Hello Birch families,

This week in birch class we talked about changes of season. We learned that summer is now gone and we are in the season of fall. We learned that the weather starts to get colder and leaves change colors and fall off the trees. The children practiced raking leaves with mini rakes and crunching the leaves in our piles. We explored leaves in our sensory table and crunched them up! We also viewed pine cones and tree rings under a magnifying glass. The children practiced some yoga, used a little boat to rock, and climbed up and over a bridge outside.

In art, the children painted with their hands on large paper to help make giant leaves, used liquid water colors, and used leaf stamps. The children spent time practicing sweeping the floor this week.

In music class with Ms. Kathleen, we listened to fall sounds like the wind, leaves crunching and rain. The children danced with scarves and played with jingle bells. We also had our own musical instrument parade!

Due to our seasons changing, please bring in a jacket for your child to wear outside and extra clothes that are appropriate for the weather. Thank you and have a wonderful weekend!

Have a great weekend,
Ms. Sloan and Ms. Delani
