This week in Cedar

Dear Cedar Families,

I think it’s safe to say that fall is here! That chilly weather and gentle wind aren’t keeping us inside though. This week, as we talked about harvesting, we checked our plants outside and started harvesting them. Some of our planter boxes will be cleared out and winterized over the next few weeks. We are hoping a few more tomatoes will ripen before we take that one out though. We read Harvest Party and Fall Apples this week.

With so much talk of harvesting this week, we will be exploring more about apples and pumpkins next week. We might even have the chance to open up a pumpkin and explore the insides. Continued vocabulary to use next week will include words like “harvest,” “apple,” “pumpkin,” and “autumn.”

Weekly song: Apples, Peaches, Pumpkin Pie

Apples, peaches, pumpkin pie

Snack is ready, so am I

We sing that song almost every day before snack, but lately the children have been asking for it more and more because of all the delicious food talk we’ve been having.

As the winds pick up and the temperatures drop, please consider switching out your sun hats for warmer hats.

Have a great weekend!

Ms. Karina, Ms. Spenser, Ms. Jen, and Ms. Karen
