Hello Evergreen Families,
The students have started a new theme for the month of November. We are talking about family as the holidays are approaching. We began with each of them turn and talking with a partner about who is in their family. Next, we read a few books about family vacations and visiting family. That led to talking about extended family. Please talk with your child about upcoming travel plans and pick up a map in the classroom to fill out the state you may be headed to. Thank you to those who have already returned these, the children are so excited to share. We will be creating an interactive map to extend this learning.
With the help of Z (Sanford Harmony) and teachers, students are learning the words to use for expressing their feeling and wants. This week we specifically talked about-Everything is for Everybody, examples of playing with blocks, family or anything else can be enjoyed by all.
This week:
- The students began drawing more detailed pictures to express/write about their intentional play plan for that work period. They are also able to focus on this intentional play for a bit longer than at the start of the school year, great progress!
- Continued Graphics practice to develop proper pencil grip and beginning of writing. Each student practiced writing their name.
- Geography of the US focusing on Colorado
- Predictions made to what would happen if water was added to sensory beads
Have a great weekend!
