Dear Dogwood Families,
Squirrels and birds and deer galore has been the focus for us all week. Despite how hard it is to say the word squirrel we have loved watching the one outside our window this week. We watched it gather food and jump between branches as it prepares for winter. Our birds are flying to find somewhere warm, especially the geese. Our book Stranger in the Woods highlights deer and other winter animals as the snack off a snowman. We are excited for the snow to fall and we have been singing about it a lot this week, especially snowmen.
Next week we are going to open our focus to winter. Hopefully it will snow as we come upon the official start of winter, but we have lots of fun planned even if it doesn’t. It is very chilly outside and one of the things we will be talking about is how to stay warm outside. Please be sure your child has appropriate winter gear every day. Even if there is no snow, everyone needs hats, mittens/gloves, and a warm jacket. An extra pair of clothes in cubbies is important as well in case we get wet or messy.
Sincerely,
Ms. Karina, Ms. Kelsey, Ms. Sonia, and Ms. Delani
