April 19

Good afternoon Aspen families,

This week we talked about care of the Earth. The class discussed saving water for the fish, and we talked about saving the trees so we have clean air to breath. We also talked about Earth being home to animals, plants, and people.  During circle time we read Earth Day, Our World Book, Trees, and Birds.

In small groups this week the children rolled dice and counted the dots. The children made a collage and a hand print Earth for art. In science, the children looked at pictures of different places in the world that have different geography and climate than what they know in Colorado. The children also looked at pictures from Ms. Mallison’s trip to the Grand Canyon! The children loved hearing her stories.

In literacy, the children continued working on letter recognition.

In music this week the children listened to Puff the Magic Dragon.  They also sang finger play songs, used shaker eggs, and marched with scarves around the room.

In P.E., the children worked on balance by doing yoga.  They rolled the big exercise balls and practiced jumping with one or two feet!

Next week we are diving into reduce, reuse, recycle and celebrating Earth day! Have a wonderful weekend!

Ms. Megan, Ms. Mallison, Ms. Haley and Ms. Jessie
