April 19

Hello Dogwood families,

This week the Cedar and Dogwood classes have been talking about Earth Day! The children have been composting snacks and meals in the classroom as well as tissues and paper towels.  The children also worked on sweeping the floor and picking up trash from the playground.

The children enjoyed reading The Foot Book and Baby Beluga. Their favorite book this week was Big Picture Atlas, they flipped through the pages and looked at pictures of buildings and animals from all around the world!

In art, the children used blue and green foam paint and made their own Earth Day mural! They also enjoyed using crayons this week.

Our song of the week was “Down By The Bay.” We also sang “Mr. Sun” and “Ring Around the Rosie.” The children enjoyed singing along with Ms. Kathleen while she played guitar! Ms. Kathleen brought the book Puff the Magic Dragon which the children also enjoyed dancing and singing with.

Next week we will continue talking about our Earth and how we can help keep it clean.  We will continue to enjoy the sunshine by taking some work outside.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Ms. Kelsey, Ms. Sonia, Ms. Jamie, and Ms. Eileen
