Hello Evergreen Families
This week we have continued talking about ways we can help the Earth. We have changed our focus a bit more toward planting. Planting gives us food as well as food for the bees, in return we are helping the Earth.
In small groups we talked about what a seed needs to grow, then we planted a Zinnia seed in a cup so we can watch it grow. The children watered it and have placed it in the sunlight. In another group the children practiced memory and writing. We read If you Give A Mouse A Cookie and asked the children to predict what comes next. The children answered it by making a picture of what they thought came next. In our groups the children also made invitations for Muffins with Mom. Be sure to check your parent file if you have not received yours.
In literacy we added letter egg matching. Each egg has the capital letter on the top and the lower case letter on the bottom. The children must sort through and match them. They have been enjoying this activity and helping each other out.
Next week we will be transforming our dramatic play area to a Flower Nursery. The children will be in charge of planting and caring for the flowers, as well as picking and selling them.
We hope you have a great weekend!
