January 17

Dear Forest families,

This week we continued to learn all about helpers in our community. The children worked together to solve problems. They learned about the different roles that work with firefighters and police officers in the community like the dispatcher or police dog trainer. In these roles the children were able to work with the firefighters or police officers to identify and direct where to go for an emergency.  As a police dog trainer the children set up obstacle courses for the dogs to work through. In addition to this the children are also acting out the story of the “Three Billy Goats Gruff.”  They used dough to create the troll and build a bridge before acting out the story.

In math the children are working on greater than and less than as well as taking a shape of their choice, cutting it into 3 pieces and then gluing it back together. In literacy we are reviewing (at) family words as well as the letter sounds A-D while creating word books.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Ms. Jess, Ms. Lori, and Ms. Blanca
