Dear Garden and Mountain families,

In Garden we have several babies on the verge of crawling! Each stage of crawling is so important. Starting at lifting their head during tummy time, to rolling over, pushing up to sitting and eventually crawling. They are building strength when they look around during tummy time. They are learning to balance when they lean forward when sitting and again when leaning forward to crawl. It is so much fun to watch all this happening in our room! These babies are amazing!

In Mountain this week we stayed very busy with music class, multiple stroller walks, exploring the aqua doodle and playing animal rescue. Animal rescue is a fun fine motor activity for toddlers that involves taping a toy to a surface and then giving the child the task of peeling the tape away to save the animal.

This week the children also enjoyed lots of different gross motor activities. We pushed all the different push toys around the classroom. We rolled the large balls with our friends and we even practiced crawling around as a class! We were able to practice the ring toss by using a small cone and large foam rings. We will continue to work on this activity each week and watch the children master their skills. We hope everyone has a great weekend!
