Dear Garden and Mountain Families,

In Mountain we read Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? by Bill Martin Jr and Eric Carle. This is one of the children’s favorite stories to read as a class. This book allows us the opportunity to review all the different animal sounds as well as the different colors. This week the children especially enjoyed the sing along story The More We Get Together by Caroline Jayne Church. After reading this book we worked on singing “If You’re Happy and You Know It” and “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes.” These songs encourage the children to participate and engage with one another. We stayed busy with stacking all different size blocks, climbing on the climbing mats and we even practiced crawling through the tunnel. We used the balls to practice rolling and we used the bean bags to practice our throwing.

In Garden this week we talked about colors blue, green and red. The children played with toys and buckets of the same color. We also continue to talk about our ears, eyes, nose and hair. We sang “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes.” Our infants are all working on rolling around and sitting up and are all getting so strong! We hope everyone has a wonderful and restful weekend!
