Happy July Evergreen families!
This week in Evergreen we talked about mixtures and solutions. The children had so much fun watching the reactions of the various experiments we did this week. We started the week looking at oil and water, we made a lava lamp and the children added droplets of colored water to a jar of oil and watched as the water bubbles floated in the oil. The children also made sensory bottles and have enjoyed shaking them up and watching them resettle. The children enjoyed experimenting with what would dissolve in water. They tried various things like sugar, salt, and sand. They had fun making a guess and then seeing if they were correct. We also talked about sinking and floating. The children had fun picking various objects from around the classroom, adding them to a bucket of water and watching to see if they would sink or if they would float. We made a chart of what we thought would sink and what we thought would float. For art, the children hot air balloon art project from Ms. Melissa.
Next week we will be talking about and experimenting with colors! Have a wonderful weekend.
