Dear Evergreen families,

This week the Evergreen class talked about and explored colors. We talked about the three primary colors and then the children explored mixing colors. From paints at the easel to our various experiments the children had fun with colors this week. The Evergreen children observed our walking water experiment where we placed the ends of paper towels in colored water and watched as it “walked” up the paper towel meeting in the middle with the color at the other end. The children also observed flowers change colors because of the colored water they were in. The children questioned what would happen if we switched the flowers to different colored water so we left one in each color as a constant and switched the others. The children guessed what they thought would happen from the colors mixing, another color popping up, and no change. The children then observed them the rest of the week to see what happened. Be sure to ask your child!

For art this week the children explored with watercolor ice cubes on paper and tie dying coffee filters. We talked about rainbows and observed the colors around us through a chameleon color matching game. The children also created a fun camping scene art project from Ms. Melissa.

Next week we are exploring reactions. Have a great weekend!

Ms. Megan
