Good afternoon Birch families,

This week the Birch class learned all about their five senses.  The class taste tested herbs from our garden, observed what makes sound and what doesn’t and did a smell test with different scents.

During small circle, the class listened along to the books Sniff, Look, Goodnight Owl, and Taste.

Practical life skills continued to grow by picking up pom-poms with tweezers, color matching buttons, working with sorting puzzles and building with star blocks

The children continued to enhance their large motor skills by going on nature walks, kicking and throwing balls back and forth to a friend, running and catching bubbles, and riding and pushing bikes on the playground.

During music with Ms. Kathleen, the class danced with scarves to Swedish music, listened and sang along as Ms. Kathleen played the guitar and created music using shaker eggs.

 

Next week the Birch class will be focusing their attention on cooking!
