Happy Friday Aspen families!

This week the children learned about the concept more or less! We read “Eight Animals on the Town” and “Numbears A Counting Book” and talked about which numbers are bigger than other smaller numbers. We also read books about friendship and discussed how to be kind to our friends. We read ” Love Your Neighbor”, “Will I Have a Friend?”, and “Corduroy”.
Our high scope activity this week was called “Magic Trick”. This activity helped the children to see the concept of more or less. We put buttons inside of a folder and without the children knowing, added or subtracted a few more buttons. We then opened the folder and they found there were “magically” more or less buttons than before!
In art, the children used their fingers, stamps, markers, and spray bottles to paint a large group picture on butcher paper. They were working on sharing and using their words to ask for a turn! Making group pictures has been a big hit in the classroom!
In Spanish, Ms. Susan continued to review words the children have been learning throughout the year.
Thank you so much for a wonderful year in Aspen! Good luck as your children move on to Evergreen!
Ms. Natalie and Ms. Megan
