Hello Garden and Mountain Families.

Welcome back to a new school year at Treehouse! We have a few new children and families this week. Please help us in welcoming Charlie, Crosby and Hallie. It is so great to have new faces around and we look forward to getting to know everyone.

This week we focused on a theme of ‘Back to School.’ We counted things, colored with crayons, sang the “ABC’s,” and spent time settling into new routines. The children enjoyed exploring some new toys and materials that were put on the shelves this week. We try to switch the materials every so often, so the children are less likely to get bored of them.

We read 123 Peas, Very First 123, Colors, Colors Everywhere, First 100 Words, and 123 Counting. We also sang “The More we get Together,” “If You’re Happy and You Know it,” and “Make New Friends.” In music class, the children played rhythm sticks, took turns banging on a drum, danced with scarves and tried singing “ba-ba” into a microphone.

Since it seems the weather is cooling off some in the mornings, please be sure that your child has the appropriate attire for outside play. The playground can also be wet at times, and since most of the children crawl they can get pretty wet, so please be sure to keep extra clothes in your child’s cubby.
