September 23

Hello Garden and Mountain Families.

This week we had a ‘seasons’ theme. The children made hand-print leaves and pasted brown tissue paper onto squirrels. They also colored with crayons, which really gets those fine-motor skills working. We read What Season Is It?, Fall Changes, Good-Bye Summer, Hello Fall, and I Know It’s Autumn.  We sang “If all of the Raindrops,” “5 Little Monkeys Swinging in a Tree,” and “The Thumbkins they can Sing.”

In music class, Ms. Kathleen brought a song book for the children to look at. It’s called Driving My Tractor about a man who drives his tractor to pick up all his farm animals. She plays the song while the children look at the book and dance along. Then she followed it up by playing farm animal sounds, which the children always think is fun.

We have been working on a lot of fine motor skills with the Mountain children. This week we have worked on stacking blocks and putting block puzzles together.

We hope you have a great weekend.
