September 30

Hello Garden and Mountain Families.

We have had a good week here and we hope that you have had a great last week of September (where does the time go?). This week we focused on fall colors. We read Pick a Circle, Gather Squares, Leaf Trouble, Fall Harvest: Bringing in Food, and A Colorado Alphabet. It is fun to look at pictures and talk about the different items they recognize.

The children made leaf sun catchers by putting pieces of colorful tissue paper onto contact paper. They love to feel the sticky paper and see the results of their work. You can check out the work, too, on the windows of the classrooms. The Mountain children also glued different colors of paper onto a ‘tree’ and then used a toilet paper roll for the trunk.

In music class this week, Ms. Kathleen brought her microphone for the children to make noise into, and quite a few of the older children did actually sing “baa-baa” into it. Outside of music class we sang “Five Little Monkeys Swinging in a Tree,” “The Ants Go Marching,” the “ABC’s,” and “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” with the book to go with it.

We hope you have a great weekend and enjoy the beautiful fall colors!

Ms. Valerie, Ms. LaTanya, Ms. Shannon, Ms. Stephanie, Ms. Delani, and Ms. Janie
