Good Afternoon Forest Families!

This week in Forest, children worked in their play centers all about Transportation! We have been talking about all the different things that could happen in the train station, boat dock, mechanic, carwash, airport, and bike shop. Children have been working together to add on to their play and make it more complex each time they revisit a new center.

In math and science this week, Forest children worked on shape manipulation to create new pictures. They practiced naming shapes and organizing more complex shapes as they created a picture and wrote about it. Forest children also examined seeds and roots. We discussed what roots do as the plants grow. Children made predictions about how much the plants will grow this week.

In literacy, children read about a tiny seed that was blown all around the world. Children discussed where the seed could possibly end up and then wrote about their ideas. Children also worked on their letter formation and practiced reading pictures with partners.

Next week we will take our plants outside and garden on the playground! Next week will also be Muffins with Mom, on May 11th!

Have a great weekend,

The Forest Teachers,

Ms. Amanda, Ms. Kristine, Ms. Jess, Ms. Freya, and Ms. Suzanne
