Good Afternoon Forest & River Families!

This week in Forest, children created and analyzed graphs! For one graph, children tasted different snack variations and charted their favorite. After reading the chart, we determined that pretzels were the favorites, followed by goldfish, and one favorite for Chex. We also graphed stuffed animal colors to determine what color occurred the most. We analyzed our chart and found that most animals were red, followed by brown.

In science, we discussed animal habitats and how scientists explore and experiment. In the classroom, children pretended to be scientists exploring their environment and making notes. On the playground, students went looking for insects as well. We even found a spider making a home in the garden, with food wrapped up in its web!

This week, we also had a special presentation from the Arvada Center. Children practiced painting with primary colors and mixing them to create new colors. After painting, children cut up their paintings to create a collage similar to the art of Eric Carle!

Next week, we will add dinosaurs to our play and science exploration and have another special presentation on Thursday!
